8:30 Introduction

Self paced tutorials: pair up.
One computer open Alice, the other computer work through the following tutorials by opening the .ppt files (do not download).

Getting Started Tutorials
1. Essentials of Alice Tutorials (15 minutes) - select either Bunny or Kangaroo

2. When you have completed your this program - save this program:
  • File - Save
  • Browse and find your flash drive
  • Create a folder - call it Alice Programs
  • Name the file and click save.
3. Convert your program to a video:
  • File - Export to Video
  • Click Record button
  • Click Stop Recording button when program has ended.
  • Click Export to Video button
  • The movie is saved in the folder where you saved the program
To check - go to the folder where your program is saved and click on the video. You should see it play.

4. Introduction to Alice (1 hour) - select water world (fish fairy) - save and save often!

Save and save often your practice Alice programs

Lunch (11:00 - 11:30ish)

Planning your story discussion

Create a story using Alice - the story must have:
  • at least 2 characters
  • have a beginning, conflict & resolution

Show plan to either Ms. Pam or Mr. Puccetti

Start your programming your story

Save program story on a flash drive before leave today - your program will not be on computer tomorrow!

1:15ish - pack up....
we are going on a tour of a Clean Room.

June 17 Agenda
8:30 - start working on your program

11:00ish - lunch

11:30ish return and finish program, if you get done - work on one or more of the following:
  • create a program that introduces new students to your STLP
  • Learn how to create a quiz - work through the Simple Quiz Tutorial
  • or select another tutorial!

2:00ish - Export your program as a video and give to Ms. Pam

2:15 - you will present your program to everyone

2:45 pack up to meet your parents at 3:00.
